There are many really cool things about X-68's. Just to point out a few.

Dual-Mode Side-Dot Illumination System
All Stax guitars feature a powered illuminated side-dot system. They always looks like a quality pearl side-dots, but when you flip the switch, you can see them in the dark. Good for studios, performances, and for everything else. On high mode, it lasts for 40+ hours on high. On low mode, it lasts for many more. When testing, we had a guitar lasting over a year on a single battery. The side dots sit flush just like a regular side dot. No contraptions.

2. Quick Release Backplates
Every player and luthier will appreciate the easy of taking the backplates. Less screws to lose is always a good thing. Why not make them out a cool exotic wood instead of plastic?
3. Thinness.
We spent a lot of time making X-68 Series thin. Not only to reduce weight, but to make feel amazing and unobtrusive.
X-68 is only 1.25" thick. It makes a difference.
